Serving Airports

(Non runway and taxiway surfaces)

Landside pavement markings are critical for the flow of traffic around the airport.  The flying public and those providing transportation to and from the airport depend on clear, highly visible guidance such as turn arrows, stop bars, high-visibility “zebra” crosswalks, and critical text like “ONLY,” and “STOP,” to keep traffic flowing safely around terminals, parking areas, and service roads.

These markings must withstand constant vehicle volume, tight curbside congestion, and frequent pattern changes.  Repainting worn pavement markings is especially difficult because lane closures are limited to keep disruption to passengers at a minimum.

Traditional stencil and thermoplastic preform methods can be slow, labor-intensive, and difficult to execute consistently under these conditions.

A robotic detail pavement marking system addresses these concerns by enabling rapid, precise placement and painting of symbols and text which allows crews to complete more work in less time, reduces their exposure to traffic, and maintains consistent, professional-quality markings that meet the operational demands of busy airport environments.
